Outdoor TVs:
Installation and Care
Outdoor entertaining has come a long way since the days of pulling that old wooden console onto the back porch and running a drop cord for power. Once installed, SunbriteTV outdoor televisions can remain outdoors during all weather conditions and will last for years with very little maintenance. By following these simple installation and care steps, your SunbriteTV LCD outdoor television will provide you with years of outdoor entertainment.
Important SunBriteTV Placement and Installation Guidelines
SunBriteTV LCD televisions are twice as bright as indoor LCD TVs. The sun, however, delivers more than 30 times the brightness. Therefore, it is important that you do not place the TV where the screen faces direct sunlight. This will cause the image on the screen to be washed out.
Intense direct sunlight falling on the screen over an extended period of time, may cause dark spots to form on the screen image. This is a characteristic of LCD TV technology, and is a temporary condition that will go away after the screen is pointed away from the sun.
For optimum viewing, SunBriteTV recommends the following placement and installation guidelines:
- Ideal placement is in an area where the TV is shaded by trees, landscape and/or structures, or under a patio cover or gazebo.
- SunBriteTV recommends mounting the TV on SunBriteTV's articulating, tilt and swivel wall mount
so the TV screen can be turned away from the location of the sun (see Figure 1).
The articulating wall mount also allows the TV to be rotated away, and angled down from any highly reflective surfaces such as water, white walls, concrete, etc. - SunBriteTV recommends using the SunBriteTV Dust Cover when the TV is not in use, especially if the sun is shining on the TV during the day.

Important Note: In all instances, SunBriteTV must be installed at least 5 feet from water's edge.
Care of Your SunBriteTV All-Weather Outdoor Television
Important Information About the Anti-Reflective Window on your SunBriteTV Outdoor Television
The anti-reflective window on your all-weather TV is designed to dramatically reduce reflection and improve the contrast of the image on your TV. In order to preserve the anti-reflective properties of the window, it is imperative that you follow the maintenance guidelines below:
-
Clean the window by using the following directions:
To clean the SunBriteTV window, use glass cleaner and a lint-free or micro-fiber cloth. Spray the solution on the cloth and then apply to the window. DO NOT use acrylic cleaners. -
When the TV is not in use, keep it covered with the SunBriteTV Outdoor Dust Cover
The fitted dust cover is constructed with weatherproof 4-ply polypropylene UV protection fabric that protects the window
from direct and indirect sunlight, and keeps wind-blown objects from scratching the surface of the window.

General Cleaning
Remove any dirt and salt deposits from the unit, being careful to rinse the cloth frequently to avoid scratching the TV or screen surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents when cleaning any surface on the unit.
Snow and Ice
Use a soft brush and towel to remove snow and ice from the unit.
Fiber Filter
The Fiber Filter is located on the back of the unit, inside the Intake Vent at the top of the TV (Figure 2). In areas where dust or salt air is prevalent, it is recommended that the Fiber Filter be cleaned regularly.
- Release the Fiber Filter by pulling it out from the Intake Vent.
- Pull the Fiber filter out of the TV, and wash it with mild detergent and warm water. After rinsing, let the Fiber Filter dry completely.
- Put the Fiber Filter back up into the Intake Vent.
